Large Scale Disinfection/Infection Control
Why is MDC better than bleach?
RelyOn™ Multi-Purpose Disinfectant Cleaner is more efficacious than bleach.
RelyOn™ Multi-Purpose Disinfectant Cleaner is a
one step process, it cleans and disinfects. When disinfecting with
bleach, surfaces must be cleaned first to ensure efficacy.
RelyOn™ Multi-Purpose Disinfectant Cleaner 1% solution is non-irritating to skin or eyes.
RelyOn™ Multi-Purpose Disinfectant Cleaner will not damage turn-out-gear.
RelyOn™ Multi-Purpose Disinfectant Cleaner has a
shelf life of 2 years for tablets and 3 years for powder, bleach has a
shelf life of 3-6 months.
When
would I choose to use DuPont™ RelyOn™ Multi-Purpose Disinfectant
Cleaner vs. DuPont™ RelyOn™ Disinfectant Solution or Wipes?
DuPont™
RelyOn™ Multi-Purpose Disinfectant Cleaner (MDC) is a peroxygen-based
disinfectant in the form of a powder or tablet. It is ideal for use in
large area applications, as it is non-flammable and a less costly
option than the sprays and wipes. Consider it a bleach alternative for
blood borne pathogens.
The DuPont™ RelyOn™ Disinfectant Solution or Wipes
are alcohol-based and are packaged for convenience. This ready-to-use
formulation requires no mixing or dilution and is also available in
mountable wipe canisters. It is ideal for small areas where
disinfection is needed against a wide range of human pathogens

Is DuPont™ RelyOn™ Multi-Purpose Disinfectant Cleaner corrosive?
The

always test on material before broadly applying. The powder is
corrosive and contact with metals or skin should be avoided.
